Thank you for considering CapableCanines as the place to train your dog. If you choose to train with us you can look forward to a level of service and training that is second to none.

Head Trainer, Dave has owned and lived with dogs for 25 years and worked with rescue dogs for many years. He has had 20 years of experience of training dogs and has completed many courses in Canine Behavioural Psychology and how dogs learn.

Dave is a member of the APDT (00343) and he is their Regional Representative for the Surrey area. The APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) ensures that only Kind, Fair & Effective methods of training are carried out by their members. Members of the APDT must continue to develop their knowledge of dogs and training skills, be fully insured and adhere to  a strict code of practice.

Dave is CAP (Clicker Trainers Competency Assessment Program) tested to level 2. This Program is run by Kay Laurence. To find out more about CAP tests please go to

Unlike many large organisations, Dave and his team of trainers, Cherylyn (Dave's wife), Chris and Sandra, will work together to give you the personal attention, training advice and support that both you and your dog deserve.

You can be assured that no harsh or aversive methods will ever be used. Only the very best kind, modern, effective and reward based positive reinforcement methods are used.

We truly believe in motivating both you and your dog to achieve the best possible results.

We keep our classes small in number to make sure that we give you our best possible individual attention.

The emphasis in all of our classes is to create a happy, relaxed and calm atmosphere for both owners and their dogs. An environment where nobody will ever feel uncomfortable. It has been proved that this is the best environment to enable greater learning.

We are pleased to announce that we are now running the Kennel Club Good Citizen dog Scheme (KCGCDS). This straightforward, non-competitive, exciting scheme promotes responsible dog ownership. All dogs are eligible, be they pedigree or crossbread, young or old. For further information, please see the KCGCDS page.

CapableCanines are invited to take part in many Obedience, Heelwork to Music and Agility demonstrations throughout the summer, which we happily do free of charge for charities and local groups.

We invite you to come along and watch any class that you are interested in on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday (see class times and venues). You do not have to make an appointment, just turn up and watch a class and have a chat with us.

Training is a very important step in your dogs life and choosing a good Training School which will recognise their ability and enrich their lives is one of the most important decisions that you can make. If you decide to join us at CapableCanines you will be given our help, support and advice at all times, not just for the duration of the class. By training your dog you will experience the unique relationship and lifelong bond that can be built between you and your dog.

We hope you enjoy looking at our website and look forward to seeing you at CapableCanines sometime soon.
